HYPNOSIS | HYPNOTHERAPY...
Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will control your life and you will call it fate ~ Carl Jung
Please watch the short video below, explaining what hypnosis is
Hypnosis used in a Therapy Setting is also referred to as Hypnotherapy
A proven and effective method for a wide range of issues including relief from anxiety, stress and depression, weight loss and balanced eating, changing limiting behaviours, habits and addictions and for improving performance.
It can also provide relief from the symptoms of pain conditions.
Hypnosis is a natural state. Any time you’re completely involved in doing something, concentrating so hard that you aren’t really aware of what’s going on around you, you’re in a state of mild self-hypnosis, a natural state.
Relaxed and Focused
In the state of hypnosis, your body becomes relaxed and your mind becomes focused. While this is happening, your unconscious mind is open to processing beneficial ideas and suggestions. This can lead to positive and lasting change because hypnosis enables us to access the subconscious level of mind where our habits and patterns of behaviour are stored, and to make changes from there.
Changing the operating program
Most of us live by a set of memorised thoughts, emotional reactions and behaviours that have been conditioned by our life experiences. These conditioned responses become our subconscious operating program. When we repeat the same patterns of thinking and feeling as we did in the past, even if that past was yesterday, we are recreating the same life circumstances, experiencing the same emotions, and reinforcing the same patterns of thinking and feeling. And if those thoughts and behaviours are negative or destructive then we experience the limitations of that state of mind.
If this sounds like a familiar pattern to you and you’d like to make positive changes, then hypnosis | hypnotherapy can help.
New ways of thinking and being
When you are in a state of focused attention, a hypnotic state, you have access to the subconscious level of mind and it is from here you can learn new ways of thinking and being and establish new, resourceful habits and responses.
Milton Erickson, the father of modern hypnotherapy, is often quoted as saying that when a client walks in the door the solution walks in with them. He also held the conviction that the subconscious mind is a source of wisdom and strength.
It is my role to support you to connect with the inner resources you already have and to make changes from there.
You are always in control
It’s important to know that although you’re more open to suggestion during hypnosis, you are always in control. In a hypnotic state, you are fully aware of what is happening, you are always in control of your responses and you will respond in a way that is congruent with your own values and highest good.
I am always open about my thought process and the approaches I use because I consider the work to be collaboration.
Here are some of the issues I work with:
- Emerging from depression
- Becoming less anxious, more relaxed, more confident
- Healing traumatic memories that may be inhibiting or upsetting you in the present
- Improving your relationship with yourself
